Naveen Daftari
Junior Varsity Defensive Line
Returning for his second year to coach the Mustang Junior Varsity, Naveen Daftari uses his previous playing experience to work with the defensive line.
After graduating from Davis Senior High School in 2002 as an All Capital Athletic League tight end and two-way starter as a tight end and defensive tackle for the Blue Devils, Naveen stayed in his home town and attended UC Davis. There, he played four years for the Aggies as a defensive tackle (2003- 2006) where he was a starter in his last 22 consecutive games. He earned Great West All-Academic honors all four years, and won the Aggie Pride Award in 2006. His proudest football achievement is being a part of the Aggie team that beat Stanford in 2005 by a score of 20-17 in which Stanford was held to just 192 yards of total offense.
After graduating from UC Davis with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Naveen found his way to Southern California by attending UCLA for his Masters in Electrical Engineering which he finished in 2009. Naveen currently works at Northrop Grumman in Manhattan Beach and manages to find time to coach at Mira Costa.
