Mustang Football Field
Early in 2007, under the guidance of the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation, representatives from Mustang Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, Track & Field, Baseball, Softball, Band, Cheer and Administration, formed a committee to explore the feasibility of installing synthetic turf for the 2007 - 2008 School Year.
With great support from the Athletic Foundation and a grass roots fundraising effort in the community, this dream was made a reality in the summer of 2007.
The field features pliable polypropylene fibers and a combination of crumb rubber and sand infill. It offers year-round playability with lower maintenance costs and it is environmentally friendly. It is a beautiful playing surface for all sports teams and PE classes at Mira Costa.
